Supermarket Chain in Capital Region Giving Kids Free Fruit
Who says nothing is free? One supermarket chain is giving kids who visit their store free fruit.
According to PIX 11, ShopRite is encouraging kids to eat healthy by allowing those 12 and under to snack snack on fruits like apples, oranges, and bananas for free. The program is open at many ShopRite locations throughout the NY/NJ area including several in the Capital Region. See area locations below. Kids interested in the program get a 'Kids Club Card' which allows them to get free fruit while shopping with a parent or guardian. "This program is a fun way to educate kids about healthy eating habits," said president and chief operating officer of ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc., Brett Wing.
What are your thoughts on the free fruit for kids program? I think it's great. I'm just hoping that I can pass for 12.
