Things To Do In The Capital Region If You Don’t Like The Cold!
I am not a big fan of cold weather. I will deal with it but getting me outside is pretty hard. But lately, being inside is getting to me also. So what is a warm-weather person supposed to do in the wintertime? Go out and have indoor fun!
Here are some fun indoor activities to do with your friends and family in the Capital Region:
Indoor Rock Climbing! The Capital Region has a few places you can go for indoor rock climbing.
- The Edge Halfmoon indoor climbing facility has more than 14,000 square feet of climbing terrain. There are classes, hourly rates, and you can even hold a party or event at The Edge.
- The Rocksport Indoor Rock Climbing Facility and Outdoor Guiding Service are located in Queensbury. They offer classes for newbies and those who have not been climbing for a while who may need a refresher course.
SkyZone Trampoline Park will have you jumping for joy with indoor fun! There is Freestyle Jump that lets trampoliners display their acrobatic skills without fear of the fall. Get competitive with Dodgeball, Skyhoops, and Skyslam. Want to battle it out with siblings or even mom and dad? Try Skyjoust for friendly hand-to-hand combat. Right now, there is a SkyZone located in Clifton Park. The Albany SkyZone is moving, and no mention of location just yet.
If you like interactive adventure, then The Tru Escape Mystery & Escape Room in Queensbury or the All In Adventures Escape Room at Crossgates Mall are for you. The Tru Escape will have you working as a team to solve puzzles, riddles, find clues, and complete tasks if you hope to solve the room. At the All In Adventures Escape Room, there are nine unique scenarios to choose from, prevent a mass escape from Alcatraz, save New York City from an evil criminal, or take down a smuggling ring.
Miss being out on the golf course? Indoor is the place to be to bring you there. The Bunker has a location in Guilderland and Clifton Park and offers lessons and instructions, leagues, and even kid time for the little golfers.
If you are in the northern part of the Capital Region, Bay Meadows Golf Club has five indoor PGA Tour simulators that offer year-round golfing. That might be too pro for me, but as long as there are no pros I am up against, it sounds like fun.
