My wife and I love diners.

There's something really cool about being able to order dinner, lunch, and breakfast all at the same time. Now, we're not talking about a small restaurant that calls itself a diner, but they are just in a strip mall somewhere. Although, I have to say I've had some pretty good breakfasts at those too. Like the Hometown Diner in West Sand Lake...great comfort food and really nice people.

We're talking about the quintessential, American greasy spoon diner with the counter that's filled with hard-working men and women that are grabbing a hot cup of joe before returning to work. They are usually covered with polished stainless steel with lots of neon lights.

For the last few months, my wife and I have been going to some of the local diners for breakfast on Saturday mornings and these are some of our favorites.
