WATCH: Saratoga Vandal Smashes Store Window, Can You Identify Him?
WTF? Why is this guy throwing a metal sign into the door of Union Hall Supply Company in Saratoga?
The man was caught on surveillance camera around 6:30 Thursday night. He can be seen picking up the sign and throwing it into the door twice. Then he flips off the door.
The owner of the store, Heidi West, saw what happened and rushed over to the store . When she arrived she found the front door shattered.
West says this is the second time in a year one of her stores has been vandalized:
Every now and then, every decade or so, we'll hear about a window that gets smashed, but two of my store windows on the corner of Caroline Street and Broadway have been broken in since the beginning of the year.
Union Hall Supply is a men's clothing store and accessories shop, so we're really not sure what this guy's beef is. Maybe he saw a sweater he wanted and was pissed they were closed? Or maybe just a few too many cocktails on Caroline Street, which has seen an uptick in violence recently.
The Saratoga Springs City Commissioner, Jim Montagnino, has put forth a plan that would increase the amount of police patrolling the streets:
I know there's no such thing as a petty larceny when it's your stuff, and there's no such thing as a simple assault when it's yours. So we want to make sure that those incidents are few and far between as possible.
If you have any information on who this guy is, Saratoga Springs Police would like to hear from you.
