What Business Do You Want to Move to the Old Sears in Colonie?
I drive past Colonie Center pretty regularly and keep wondering what store should move in to the lot where Sears used to be before they close down last year. Whole Foods dominates that part of the mall right now, but there is definitely something missing when a two-story flagship store leaves the mall.
Personally, I'd like to see something to do in that space, not just another place to shop.
Here are a few ideas:
The Most Insane Escape Rooms You've Ever Seen. No, that's not the name of a real place, but they would have to be to take up that entire space. But just imagine. You could put some really awesome and complex escape rooms in the space, even if it only took up one of the two floors.
A Bowling Alley. A bowling alley would be a lot of fun and add another experiential thing to do at Colonie Center. Again, this might just be one floor.
Indoor Mini Golf. Mini golf is one of my favorite things to do in the summer, but Capital Region winters don't exactly make it a year-round activity here. Plus, I imagine outdoor mini-golf courses need tons of upkeep after New York winters. Everyone wins with an indoor one.
Rock Climbing. Tear down the first-floor ceiling and you could have an amazing, high-ceilinged place for indoor rock climbing. Plenty of space for beginner, intermediate and advanced rock climbing walls. Yeah, I'm in. Someone make this happen.
Ok, those are a few ideas - but what do you want to see?
