When Can You Buy Halloween Decorations in Albany?

In recent years Halloween has become more and more popular. While it has always been a top holiday for many, the trend seems to be celebrating Halloween 24/7. Many even have their entire homes decked out in Halloween decor all year long.

Since people are fully embracing their love of the spooky world only having the decor out for a short period of time isn't ideal. We've seen many stores start to put out there Halloween decorations earlier and earlier each year. So when will the new decorations be out for 2025?

Summerween

Last year in 2024 I found Halloween decorations at the At Home store in Albany right around the fourth of July. I did go check out their Crossgates Commons location and as of June 13, 2025 they still don't have any Halloween or Fall decorations out yet.

Spirit Halloween, the ultimate Halloween store usually starts opening up around August. Last summer we saw Spirit locations open up around mid-August in the Capital Region. While we don't have a date for their opening yet, or locations, we do have a sneak peek at their theme for this year which appears to be a haunted Subway. That sounds so cool to me.,

While no one has given an exact date on when items will hit the stores, some places have already made Halloween decorations available online for you to purchase. Lowes has a new selection online for 2025. Home Depot also has some new items available online for 2025.

Here is some information, and best estimates, as to when you'll see Halloween merchandise in other stores this summer:

• Michael's - Early July
• Walmart - Late August/Early September
• Target - Late August/Early September
• Cracker Barrel - After the Fourth of July
• Home Goods - Mid/Late July
• Marshall's - Mid/Late July
• TJMaxx - Mid/Late July

A lot of these dates and time tables are also subject to your location. They may be different for different parts of the country. Many stores around the Capital Region won't put out Halloween decor until after school starts in the fall.

Target does have some new stuff out for Halloween 2025 on their website. I just don't find it as fun to shop online as I do in person.
