The Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady has done extensive work to help shelter and take care of animals over the years. If you'd like to help fundraise for their efforts and you enjoy music and/or walking, we've got just the event for you: Woofstock 2023 (not to be confused with Woodstock).

While both festivals value peace, love, and music, Woofstock is slightly different...

As one of the largest fundraising festivals the Capital Region has ever seen, the APF's second annual Woofstock celebration will return to Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady on June 11, 2023. The event welcomes everyone, whether you're human or even a furry four-legged animal, since that's who the event is truly for.

The first event to take place at Woofstock 2023 is the walk-a-thon. Grab your pet and join the walk around Mohawk Harbor in order to fundraise for APF animals. You can register yourself or team for the walk-a-thon here. Registering for the walk-a-thon automatically awards you free admission to the music festival happening afterward. If you/your team are able to raise $50, you get admission to the festival and a t-shirt. If you're planning on participating in the walk-a-thon, make sure you're at Mohawk Harbor to grab your running bib by 10:00am.

After the walk-a-thon, the music festival will commence at noon, complete with "live music and entertainment, a wellness zone and activities, pet-friendly shopping, beer, wine, food vendors" and more (secure.qgiv.com). If you'd like to go to the music festival but not the walk-a-thon, you can register for the music festival alone here, $40 for adults and $15 for kids.

This event is vital for raising necessary funds to help thousands of animals each year through the Animal Protective Foundation. Plus, it sounds like something fun to do with your pets, so definitely consider participating! For more information, visit Woofstock's webpage.
