The Troy Boys and Girls Club earned Nation recognition recently with a very special award.

According to The Record (Troy, NY), the Troy Boys and Girls Club was awarded the 2018 Honor Award for Program Excellence in Character and Leadership at the 112th national Boys and Girls Club Conference last week in San Diego, California. Team leaders Jerry Ford and Tafari Harper, of Team Helping Everyone Recognize Opportunities, along with The Block Center, traveled to the conference to accept the award. "It feels magnificent; actually the word magnificent wouldn't even describe how it feels because we know that Troy was up against all of the major cities in the United States. I'm still getting adjusted because it's such a magnificent thing," said Ford. Each honoree also receives a $2,500 award. The Block Center is for young people ages 11-17 that helps with educational projects, character building activities, field trips and more.

A big congrats to the Boys & Girls Club of Troy for a well deserved honor!
