Capital Region Area Wrestling Event Postponed

XWA (Xtreme Wrestling Alliance) was scheduled to hold an event featuring WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund this Saturday, Aug. 26. The event has been moved to October.

According to the official XWA website, due to circumstances beyond the control of the promoter, the Aug. 26 event that was to take place at the Watervliet Dome has been pushed back to Oct. 14. All tickets purchased for Aug. 26 show will be honored at the new date. The event will feature a meet and greet with former World Champion Bob Backlund. Backlund had an in-ring wrestling career spanning over 30 years, and he os a two-time WWF World Champion. His first reign was the second lingest reign in title history behind Bruno Samartino's first reign. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

Bob Backlund released an autobiography called The All-American Boy: Lessons and Stories on Life from Wrestling Legend Bob Backlund in 2015.
