Your children and grandchildren must be so excited to pick out their Halloween costumes and tour the neighborhood in search of candy and treats. I am certain the little ones aren't thinking about which costume would be best for the weather conditions but I'll bet mom and dad are. Here's what to expect this Halloween.

According to Extreme Weather Watch, the Capital Region weather for Halloween 2024 was amazing with a record-high daytime temperature of 74 degrees. That was much better than the record-low daytime temperature of 40 degrees in 2020.
On average the daytime high for the Capital Region on Halloween is 54 degrees with an average low of 36 degrees. So, what can we expect this Halloween around Albany, Schenectady, Troy and beyond?
This year Halloween falls on a Friday, which is a good night for trick-or-treating but what do the experts say about the weather? It looks like much of the area will see rain at some point during the day and it will be chilly. As of today this is what you can start planning for around the Capital Region:
- Saratoga Springs - Light rain ending by 6pm - Temperatures in mid-40's
- Schenectady - Light rain ending by 6am - Temperatures in the mid-40's
- Amsterdam - Light rain ending by 6pm - Windy and cold, temps in the 30's
- Selkirk - Light rain ending at 11pm - Temperatures in the 20's (feels like)
- Averill Park - Light rain ending at 6pm - Temperatures in mid-40's
