Capital Region Is Worst Place to Retire in the U.S.

The Capital Region has placed last on a list of the best places to retire in the United States.

According to the Times Union, apartment and real estate site Zumper.com has released a list of 117 metro areas ranked from best to worst for retirees. Tuscon, AZ tops the list, and Albany-Schenectady-Troy comes in dead last at 117. Tuscon took the top spot due to its low cost of living and temperate weather conditions, with an average of 85 percent sunshine on any given day and average total snowfall of 1 inch per year. Hot weather spots already filled with retirees made the top of the list while the bottom of the list is made up of places not always sunny and hot 85 percent of the time and areas filled with both young and old folks.
