OPINION: We Don’t Need Another One Of These Fast Food Restaurants In The Capital Region
There is no doubt that Chick-fil-a happens to be one of the most popular restaurants in the United States. In consistently is ranked as a place that areas want to have, and since they began migrating further north we have quite a few now open in the Capital Region.
Most recently Chick-fil-A opened up their fourth location in the area on Central Ave in Albany, New York. They join locations in East Greenbush, Clifton Park, and the original Capital Region location inside of Albany International Airport. Chick-fil-a isn't done yet. Another location is set to arrive soon.
Latham Chick-fil-A
While an actual date for the new Chick-fil-A in Latham is not set yet, it appears that it is just a matter of time before all the red tape is cleared for it to be open.
I understand that Latham is further away from the other locations, and with so many places in the Capital Region being spread out this could be a good move, but is it? Do we need fifth one of these in the area when to popularity of the other locations seems to have wound down?

Please, No More
I'll say that I do love me some Chick-fil-A, however, maybe it is time to give another chain a shot in our area. There are so many other food places that we could be campaigning to get here in Albany. Besides Chick-fil-A we also have multiple Dave's Hot Chicken and Popeye's locations to choose from.
If chicken is the popular thing, why not try to get Raising Caine's to our area? The proposed spot in Latham would be a jackpot location for a franchise like that to open up in for the size alone, not to mention proximity to other Capital Region places.
We are all Chick-fil-a'd out. At least I am. I'll still go and support these local franchises, but I think it's time we broadened our horizons on places we want to see open in our area.
