Clifton Park Woman Leaves Child In Car, Shops at Hannaford! What Happened?
The forecast for the 4th of July weekend in the capital Region is calling for temperatures near 100 on Saturday and in the 80's and 90's the rest of the weekend. With the heat we need to take some precautions like staying hydrated, finding a place too keep cool and not leaving our kids in a locked car while you go shopping.
I was being sarcastic on that last tip because everyone knows not to leave your child unattended in the car, right? Well one Clifton Park woman wasn't aware so she has been arrested.
According to the New York State Police, a Clifton Park woman was shopping at Hannaford on Clifton Country Road in Clifton Park on Sunday June 26th. As she was shopping the woman allegedly left her child unattended in her vehicle. Police were called at approximately 6:20PM to assess the scene.
Moments before the police arrived, 30 year-old Fatoma Ahmad or Clifton Park arrived at her vehicle, unlocked and opened the doors. Once officers were on site they had the child evaluated by EMS and released back to the mother. Ahmad was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Miss Ahmad was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Clifton Park Court on July 20, 2022. The New York State Police urges the public never to leave a child unattended in a vehicle for any period of time.
According to GoPetFriendly.com, it is also illegal to leave your pets confined in motor vehicle in extreme heat without proper ventilation or other protection.
