Donating Blood On August 21st Can Save Up To Three Lives!

With all the focus lately on superheroes in the movies, how would you like to be a superhero for the day? A lifesaver? Someone that makes a difference?

Well, coming up August 21^st at Skyloft in Crossgates Mall you have that chance with the Rock and Roll Up Your Sleeve Blood Drive! Capes and tights are optional.

Most people don’t think about the need for blood, until you or a family member needs blood in an emergency, an operation, childbirth or even organ transplants. When you a blood product, whether it’s whole blood, platelets or plasma, you usually need it quickly and that’s why keeping the blood supply stocked for the American Red Cross is so important. Also, during the summer months, the blood supply dips because a lot of regular donors are college students and they are away from school and off their normal donating schedule. Your donation can save up to three lives and all blood types are needed.

So here’s your chance to make a big impact on the local the blood supply in one rockin’ day!

August 21st at Skyloft in Crossgates Mall the American Red Cross will be taking the blood, and Q 1057 will be providing the rock and the fun from Noon until 7pm. Seriously, it will be the most fun you’ve ever had donating blood. The Q’s jocks will be broadcasting throughout the day, we’ll have live music from the acoustic due, Sticks and Stones and, of course, we’ll have killer prizes to giveaway too.

There is currently an emergency need for blood and all donors are needed. So, remember superheroes, with great power comes great responsibility.
