Egg prices have never been higher in New York State, but thanks to a new import could we soon see those prices begin to fall?

There has never been a hot item on the market than eggs. The only thing that could rival it was when the Tickle Me Elmo was all the rage in the 90s. What do they have in common? They're both very hard to come by and they limited the amount that you could buy.

Bird flu has raged through the chicken population in many parts of the US, including here in New York. As a result egg production is way down which as sent the prices to a level I have never personally seen before. However some relief may soon be on the way thank to South Korea.

While our own production is down the current administration is looking for ways to ease our wallet pain when it comes to purchasing eggs. That ease would be to import eggs from South Korea. They also said that they will import eggs from Turkey, according to the BBC.

Even if the those prices come down in the short term it could be very helpful to many Americas as eggs are a staple in so many meals. Breakfast, baking, you need eggs for a lot of that.

Hopefully we begin to see the cost of eggs go down in time for Easter when everyone will be expecting a certain bunny to hide them.
