Excelsior College's Cannabis Control Program Isn't Just Smoke

Excelsior has jumped into the education side of the cannabis industry with a brand new graduate program that they announced on Wednesday, June 17.

Even though recreational cannabis isn't legal in New York yet, except for medical marijuana, it looks like it will be eventually. There's even a slight possibility it could happen in 2020, but the coronavirus has kind of stopped the momentum that legalizing marijuana had from last year.

Excelsior College, a mostly online college here in Albany, is offering a cannabis control certificate program that isn't so much about the growing, biology, or horticultural aspect of cannabis, but the more about the business side of the sale and production of legal cannabis products.

According to Excelsior College, the certificate program will educate you on the opportunities, challenges, and complexities of the cannabis industry and its accompanying regulations.

To apply for the program you must already have a bachelor's degree and there are three courses in the certificate program.

Currently, Cannabis is the fastest-growing industry in the U.S. job market according to Markets Insider, and is projected to be a $78 billion industry in just five years. So, if you're looking for a career in the cannabis industry I wouldn't let this opportunity go up in smoke.
