Happy Birthday today (Aug. 11) to Richie Ramone. The one time drummer for The Ramones is 60. Other rockers celebrating include bassist Jim Kale of The Guess Who (74) and rocker Joe Jackson (63).

Richie Ramone (born Richard Reinhardt) played with The Ramones from 1983-1987 and he’s the only Ramones drummer to be credited as sole composer and writer of six Ramones songs. He joined the Ramones in 1983 and played on the albums Too Tough to DieAnimal Boy, and Halfway to Sanity. He penned the hit “Somebody Put Something in My Drink” which appeared on Animal Boy and the gold selling compilation album Ramones Mania. Richie Ramone had an often well documented rocky relationship with the band and abruptly left in August of 1987. He has a solo career these days releasing his first solo album in 2013 after signing to DC-Jam Records and a an album called Cellophane in 2015. Cheers to Richie Ramone on his 60th!
