Got Mask? Looks Like You’ll Need It in the Capital Region
Once New York's mask mandate was lifted it took me about 7 days to get used to not having to wear a mask at work, the store or anywhere indoors. Was this defining moment just that, only a moment?
The Daily News is reporting that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have taken another look at the latest virus research and are suggesting that, everyone wear a mask while indoors, even if you are fully vaccinated. The delta variant of the virus, which is even easier to transmit than COVID-19, is becoming more widespread around the United States, especially in lower vaccinated areas.
New York State has substantial levels of coronavirus transmissibility and therefore the CDC is recommending that places, such as the Capital Region, should reinstate face mask mandates for public indoor settings. Don't forget your mask when you go out to eat, the movies, grocery store or concert.
We must take every step we can to stop the delta variant and end this pandemic. - Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the CDC
