Elderly Man With Possible Dementia Lost In the Woods of New York Through the Night
90-year-old man, reportedly suffering from dementia, rescued in the woods of New York.
As family members we are thick as thieves and need to look after each other throughout life. As our parents and grand parents grow older they may need special attention due to certain medical conditions. Imagine how frightened this family was to not know what might have happened to one of their own.

At approximately 7:5pm on Saturday October 4th, according to a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) press release, an elder man was reported missing. Persons close to the individual suggested that the 90-year-old was showing early signs of dementia.
The subject had last been seen on Saturday October 4th at 3pm so Delaware County officials requested Forest Ranger assistance in the search in the village of Hancock, NY. Rangers joined crews from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Delaware County Tech Team, New York City DEP, and the Cooks Falls, Downsville, East Branch, Hancock, Roscoe Rockland, and Trout Creek Fire Departments.
Officials search through the night and early morning hours. At 9am on Sunday October 5th a search group found the subject in a ravine on Dry Brook Ridge Road. The subject was conscious and alert but dehydrated.
In a separate October 4th incident, Dutchess County DEC officials rescued a hiker that had been vomiting excessively from alcohol consumption at Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area. They located the subject at a campsite with three other individuals and transported the patient to an ambulance in the parking area.
