Exclusive Insights from Ace Frehley’s Final Capital Region Interview
Former KISS guitarist Paul "Ace" Frehley passed away today, October 16, 2025, at the age of 74. For kids of the 1970's we had Star Wars, Evil Knievel, Happy Days and the "Hottest Band In the Land" KISS. To say that the news of Ace's passing is upsetting is an understatement. KISS was supposed to be forever.
Just last year Ace Frehley called Q1057 and 1035, the Capital Region's Classic Rock Station to chat with Karolyi about Ace's new album at the time "10,000 Volts" and of course KISS made it's way into the conversation. Listen to the interview below.

In our 3-part interview Karolyi and Frehley discuss 10,000 Volts, Ace's 1978 solo album and KISS. How did Ace feel about not being included in the final KISS concert at Madison Square Garden? Hear his response below.
In Part 1 of this 3 part conversation, Space Ace talks about his album "10,000 Volts". Which songs on the album, if any, are older songs? Which KISS song was Ace's favorite? Find out here.
In Part 2 of this Ace Frehley interview we learn more about the 1978 Ace Frehley solo album and recording at the Colgate Mansion in Sharon, Connecticut. Did Ace really play bass on this album?
In Part 3 of our conversation Space Ace talks about adding KISS songs to his 2024 tour and what Frehley misses about being in KISS. Ace also comments of the final KISS concert and not being included in the farewell concert.
My first concert was KISS at Madison Square Garden on December 14, 1977. My mom took me and my sister to the show. Not because she had any interest, she knew how much it meant to two pre-teen fans of the "Hottest Band In the World" KISS.
May you rest in peace Ace Frehley and thank you for being the reason I wanted to join the KISS Army.
