Manhunt Underway For Escaped Berkshire County Inmate

Monday afternoon at approximately 2pm, Harry Chandler Jr of Pittsfield. escaped from the watch of the Berkshire County Sheriff's office.  A manhunt is underway to find the 33-year-old with a violent past who also is a sex offender.  If you see him or think you may know his whereabouts, the sheriff's are asking that you do dot approach him, but instead call 911.

According to the Berkshire Eagle, Chandler, in police custody since his arrest last week, escaped from Berkshire Medical Center  in Pittsfield on Monday where he was receiving medical attention stemming from a hand infection.

Police feel that he may be a threat to the public as his criminal past indicates drug use, assault and battery with a weapon, and failure to register as a sex offender according to the report. 

According to the Berkshire County sheriffs, Chandler Jr. was last seen wearing orange pants, no shirt and no shirt.  The sheriff's office have asked that you do NOT approach this man if you see him. Instead, either call (413) 442-0512 or 911.
