The New York State Conference of Mayors recently got together for a summit on legalizing marijuana.

CBS6 reported on the summit, which including New York politicians and policy makers, and some from other states who spoke.  Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan did make some comments on marijuana and New York, which you can read more on at cbs 6 albany.  In summary, it seems like the summit was less of determining if marijuana should be legal or not, and more of talking about the impact on local governments and to discuss concerns.  According to cbs 6 albany, topics included in discussion were production and sales, crime, safety, and more.  To me, this all just seems like one big ongoing discussion in the news until a decision is actually made to legalize marijuana or not.  But, if you're interested on the specifics, you can read more here.
