Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. I hope you enjoyed your day today as much as I enjoyed mine. I didn't do anything super spectacular, or have to drive miles away to enjoy my day. I just stayed home for the most part, spent time with Kim, my fiance' and my oldest daughter Terry Ellen, and ate an awesome dinner and got a really sweet t-shirt.I'm the kind of person where the simple little things can make me happy. Finding a couple bucks in my pocket that I didn't know were there, or even just finding a cool movie on TV that I haven't seen in a long time. But there is also just spending time with my family.

I didn't spend as much time as I liked with my Dad growing up. He worked and I went to school, and then at night I played as a kid and weekends I entertained myself. And there were some times I really wanted to spend time with him. One time, I wanted to go fishing with him. I was 10 or something, and had gone a bunch of times with friends to Wolford's Pond in Gloversville where I grew up, but never got to go with Dad. So I begged him for like a couple weeks to take me. He finally did, and the weather was miserable and cold and rainy, but I still had fun because it was with him.

My Dad was the kind of man that didn't say "I love you", but you knew he did by his actions. When I was in 4th grade, I was grouped with a bunch of kids to do a report on the Space Shuttle. For one reason or another, they left me out of the group. I could have said something to tick them off, I really can't remember,  but I do remember I was really upset. I was crying like a school girl, or in my case, a school boy. That weekend, my Dad and I went out and bought the biggest Space Shuttle model we could find and we both built it. That week when I brought it in for my report, I suddenly had friends again. He didn't say we'll show them, or anything like that. We went out, got it and built it and I did my report. I kept that model till it just fell apart from the glue breaking apart. I think playing with it for a few months after that also had something to do with it.

It's those things, that I try to do with my daughter. Spend time with her, and make her feel loved. And yeah, there are days I come home and I feel like poo, but my daughter still comes up to me, I'll ask her "What?" and she'll just smile and give me a big hug and say "I love you Daddy." Right there, my day is 180 degrees better. These are the times I love and am enjoying with my future wife and my daughter.

I hope you have enjoyed your day, and I hope you got to do something that really made it special. Till Tuesday, Rock on!

Here's a video of the card I got.. Pretty awesome huh?
