Construction is set to begin in March on a new craft brewery coming to the Capital Region area.

According to The Daily Gazette, a new craft brewery is in the works for the town of Malta.  25,000 square feet of commercial space is set to go up at a cost of $2.5 million which will be occupied by Unified Beerworks who will take up about 6,000 feet of the space.

The hope is that 15 full-time jobs will be created within three years. Construction is slated to be complete by July on the 7 Stonebreak Rd site. Local commercial developer MJ Properties is behind the project. The developer previously made a similar investment next door with another 25,000-square-foot building next door at 9 Stonebreak Rd.

What do you think of a new brewery coming to the Malta, NY area? Just last month, an Albany area brewery closed it's doors unexpectedly. Do you think this brewery will be successful?
