New Flea Market Coming to Capital Region Area Drive-In

A new flea market will be setting up shop at a popular Capital Region area drive-in.

According to The Daily Gazette, The Malta Drive-In on rt. 9 in Malta, NY will be the home of a new flea market starting in May. Jim O'Connell of CAP COM Federal Credit Union was looking for a location in the Capital Region area for years to host a flea market when he approached Malta Drive-In owner Ed Caro to discuss the possibility of hosting a flea market at his drive-in. The drive-in hosted a flea market 10 years ago which didn't work,  however, citing a slow season last year due to weather, Caro has decided to give Jim O'Connell's idea a try. "With a drive-in theater, you're lucky to make whatever kind of profit you can" said Caro. Dates are in place for four Saturdays this year: May 12, June 9, July 7 and Sept. 15.
