Sandra Bullock Donates $1 Million to Japanese Relief Efforts
According to CNN, Sandra Bullock has donated $1 Million dollars to the Red Cross for use in the Japanese Relief effort from the massive earthquake and tsunami last week.
The Red Cross says it's the largest celebrity donation so far in th effort, but many other large contributions have been made, with the contributors asking to remain anonymous. Many other celebs took to their twitter accounts and encouraged followers to donate to the effort. The group has recieved $2.6 million dollars in donations since last Friday, in $10 donations from cell phone text messages.
The Red Cross said overall they have raised $47 million dollars in the United States since the diasters last Friday. The U.S. organization has passed $10 million of those donations on to the Japanese Red Cross for work on the ground in Japan.
