Schenectady Area Shopping Center Sells For Big Money
Mohawk Commons in Niskayuna (town of Schenectady) which houses big retailers like Target, Lowe's, and Price Chopper has been sold for big bucks.
The Daily Gazette reports that the Mohawk Commons shopping center has sold for $66 million, according to deed records filed in Schenectady County. The property was sold by Developers Diversified Realty Corporation in October to DLC Management Corporation and DRA Advisors LLC in a joint venture which also includes other properties throughout upstate New York. In addition to Target, Lowe's, and Price Chopper, the 530,130 square-foot space also includes Bed Bath & Beyond and Marshalls among others. DDR Corporation communications manager Brandon Glenn said the Mohawk Commons Center "Didn't fit DDR's long-term strategic objectives." Mohawk Commons is located on the site of the old Mohawk Mall. It first opened in 2002 and was purchased by DDR Corporation on 2004.
