Seether Guitarist Quits
Trouble in Seether land as guitarist Troy McLawhorn quits the band due to “personal friction” with one of the other members. Seether announced the guitarist leaving earlier this month. Tuesday night they appeared on The George Lopez show without him.
On March 8 the band said:
“We regret to inform you guys that Troy has decided to leave. We wish him well in whatever he decides to do in the future, and we look forward to seeing all our fans out on the road.”
Former Evanescence guitarist McLawhorn himself said:
“Thanks for all the support – I really enjoyed playing and creating music with the guys and I wish I didn’t have to leave. It was a hard decision and I wish them the best.”
But now he’s has made a more forthcoming statement explaining: “I won’t be at any of the upcoming Seether shows because I have put in my notice that I’m leaving the band.
“I wish I could stay – but because of personal friction with another member I have to leave for my own happiness. I hope everyone understands.
“Thanks, and do what makes you happy.”
Evanscence by the way is planning a new album to be released in the Fall of 2011.
Seether’s new album Hold On to Strings Better Left to Fray is due out in May and have decided to stay as a three piece act for now. Seether from South Africa will be at Northern Lights in Clifton Park May 19th.
