Spectrum In Albany Gets Spooky This October with 10pm Movies
Allow me to take a moment to set the mood. It's dark, the moon is full, and there's a slight breeze in the air. It's fall, and it's close to Halloween and there is absolutely nothing quite like like kicking back with some apple cider, some popcorn and a scary movie this time of year.
Watching one of these types of movies at home is always a great idea, but when you have the chance to go support one of our local theaters that is playing them in October is even better. The Spectrum in Albany is playing spooky movies all of October at 10pm.
October movie lineup
October 3: Creepshow
October 10: Poltergeist
October 17: The Exorcist
October 24: The Lost Boys
October 31: A Nightmare on Elm Street
You can bet that I am going to try and be at as many of these ones as possible. These are absolute Halloween classics and I haven't had the chance to see any of these in the theater before. The two that intrigue me the most are without a doubt The Exorcist and Poltergeist. The lore behind when these movies came out alone is enough to make you curious.

People thought that they would become possessed by a demon just by going to see The Exorcist back in 1973. Then you have the stories about how Poltergeist was a cursed movie while it was being made.
Personally I don't believe all of that, but it would be something pretty amazing to experience for yourself. Put it to the test, and maybe bring some garlic or whatever else you need to have in order to make yourself feel better while viewing.
Seeing those 80s classics like The Lost Boys and A Nightmare on Elm Street are also highlights. Creepshow is a great way to kick things off with what I think is a highly underrated movie that deserves a lot more love.
