Capital Region Bracing for Major Winter Storm

We got a big storm set to come through the Capital Region on Wednesday (Feb. 7).

According to the Times Union, initial reports were saying that we could see a foot of snow on Wednesday in the Albany area, but now the National Weather Service has revised the report, saying that we may see 8-9 inches of snow by the time the storm ends Thursday morning. A winter-storm warning was issued on Tuesday for much of the region from 7am Wednesday until just after midnight. The state Department of Transportation is getting their fleet of snow plows ready and are prepared to clear the roads. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Lake George Saratoga Region and parts of the Adirondacks. Amsterdam declared a snow emergency effective 8am on Wednesday, and while Schenectady hasn't declared an emergency, the city reminds residents that parking is illegal on priority streets after 3 inches of snowfall.
