Cohoes Teenager Leaves American Idol Judges Speechless (Video)

All three judges agree and so do we.  The next American Idol could be from the Capital Region. Yes, her audition last night was that good!

Last night during the audition round of American Idol, a teenager from Cohoes received a standing ovation from all three of the judges and may have become the early front-runner for the show.  16-year-old Madison VanDenberg wowed Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie en route to a unanimous 'ticket' to Hollywood drawing comparisons to the first ever winner of Idol.

Katy Perry immediately mentioned the 'goosebumps' she felt when VanDenberg took to her piano and sang Speechless from Dan + Shay telling the Cohoes native that she reminded her of Kelly Clarkson.  Luke and Lionel agreed marveling at the fact that the local standout was only 16!

All three judges sang her praises adding that she may in fact be the next American Idol.

While it's still very early in the competition, Madison killed her audition and earned a trip to Hollywood.  Singing competition shows are always fun, but it's much more exciting when you have a local singer competing; especially one as talented as Madison VanDenberg.
