If you woke up this morning and found weird old texts on your cell phone you're not the only one. Apparently thousands of users had random old texts show up.

Can you imagine some of the interactions after seeing those. Old boyfriends, girlfriends, ex-spouses...answers to questions without context. Sounds like absolute chaos. Think about it, you're married and you get a phantom text from an old flame.....your spouse might not be too happy about that!

People have taken to social media to talk about it and try to get answers.

Popular Mechanics the big carriers like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile have all said that they didn't directly cause it. It was caused by "a glitch in telecommunications infrastructure, specifically to the
"cross carrier messaging system," which is a joint venture that the four major phone carriers committed to in late October." For some reason they still haven't figured out why the text are all from this past Valentines Day.

Think how bizarre that is. So, if a phantom text has caused a bit of trouble just show them this article to prove you didn't send that text....and you're not texting your ex.
