Time to get out the fishing gear!... if you haven’t already.

This Tuesday, the Department or Environmental Conservation is holding a fishing tournament.  It’ll be happening at Six Mile Waterworks on Tuesday. What’s even cooler? The Times Union reported that the free festival matches up with over 1,000 rainbow trout getting stocked.  So hopefully if you attend you’ll at least catch something.

It kicks off at 9:30 A.M., and the Times Union also mentioned that a free clinic is being held after the event and go through about 2 pm.  Staff from state fisheries will be on-site to help teach participants about things like fish identification, angling techniques and fishing safety. L.L. Bean staff will be on hand to teach fly casting. Participants will be allowed to fish without a freshwater fishing license.  You can get all the info here.
