Saturday was a picture perfect day for the 64th annual Albany Tulip Festival at Washington Park. Emily Finnegan, a University at Albany student was all smiles as she was selected to be the 2012 Tulip Queen.

Emily Finnegan, 20, just finished her junior year at UAlbany, studying political science and globalization studies.. She has volunteered educating children in India and participating in a Habitat for Humanity project in Guatemala. Currently she is a board member for the Albany Student Association's Committee of Community Engagement, serving organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House and Autism Speaks.

Emily was selected from five finalists who will serve on the Queens' court.  Although there wasn't a knock em sock em all out brawl between two woman dressed only in tulips, we congratulate Emily on a well deserved accomplishment.
