Man Missing And Wanted New York State Police, Have You Seen This Individual?
New York State Police out of Troop E are looking for an individual that has been missing since 2017. This same person is wanted by authorities after fleeing from a routine traffic stop. On February 13, 2017, according to a post on the New York State Police Facebook page, Jefferey J. Rumsey fled the scene of a traffic stop in Chemung County New York. Following an investigation Troopers discovered that Rumsey already had an active arrest warrant for traffic violation.
As Troopers were attempting to process the 2017 traffic stop Jefferey Rumsey allegedly fled the scene near Minier's Park off of State Route 352 in Big Flats, NY.
Based on information for the New York State Police Facebook post it appears that Mr. Rumsey may have alluded authorities, including State Police K-9 officers, by fleeing into the Chemung River. The suspect has not been located since.
Jefferey J. Rumsey has the following description;
- Born on July 22, 1977
- White male
- 6 foot 3 inches tall
- 200 pounds
- blue eyes and brown hair
- Celtic armband tattoo on his left bicep, and a red star tattoo on his left elbow
