There's an article in "Ad Age" magazine right now that's claiming ranch dressing has now passed ketchup in popularity.  WHAT?

Sure I like Ranch for a salad, dipping a veggie or two...or sometimes even with my wings to dip if I'm looking for a break from blue cheese, but more than ketchup? No.

I think the ranch on everything is more of a Midwest thing. I've seen people put ranch on everything from burgers, to pizza, to french fries. From what Hidden Valley Ranch's parent company Clorox Co is saying this ranch craze is getting bigger everywhere in the country.

"Ranch is a rising iconic flavor in food and culture today,” said Klein. “It’s found on more than half of restaurant menus and in 75 percent of homes in the U.S." -Jacquie Klein, director of Hidden Valley marketing.

So, are you a ranch fan? Do you like it better than ketchup? I'm betting that this ranch craze hasn't taken hold of the Upstate yet.....if ever.

Now, have I told you about chili poured over cinnamon rolls? It's a Nebraska thing....and probably something for another blog post.
