I have loved Shinedown since I saw them at age 15. They were my first real rock concert and from that day on I developed such a love for the genre as well as music in general. Then in November of 2010 I was lucky enough to witness their acoustic set, which was simply amazing and left an imprint on my heart and mind forever. It has been years since their last album, but finally the band are set to release their fourth studio album in March.

The record , which will be named Amaryllis, will be released in stores and online on March 27, 2012. The first single, "Bully," is available for streaming today.

This record will be following the highly successful The Sound of Madness, which released in 2008. From that came six singles and the No. 1 spot on the rock radio chart, according to the article:

That album proved Shinedown's mainstream breakthrough, debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200 before spending 120 consecutive weeks on the chart.

Amaryllis was recorded at Cavallo's Lighting Sound studios, which is located in Los Angeles, as well as Ocean Way Recording and Capitol Studios. The band again worked with Rob Cavallo who is a  multiple Grammy Award-winning producer.

Shinedown vocalist Brent Smith made the following comment regarding the band and Amaryllis:

I've always seen Shinedown as its own entity – this living thing that's been growing and developing and evolving over the past 10 years. During the recording, the vision of what Shinedown is and where it's going became completely clear. 'Amaryllis' is the manifestation of that vision, the centerpiece of what Shinedown is. It reflects on everything we've done and where we're heading.

It's a message of empowerment, perseverance, and inspiration that I think speaks to fans that have been with us since the beginning as well as those who are just learning about who we are and what we're about. I can't wait for the world to hear it.
