Unfortunately, Spring may not come early. It looks like colder than normal temperatures are predicted for March.

Here I was, hoping for warm weather to roll in, until I read a post by newyorkupstate.com dashing everything I had hoped for.  That post led me to a map by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) showing below normal temperatures predicted for at least the next 6-10 days.  For New York specifically?  The map calls for temperatures 80-90% below normal.

I guess I can't complain because this winter isn't SO out of the ordinary.  It does seem reminiscent of 'winters of old'- aka when we actually had true winters in the Northeast when I was a kid, with lots of snow and cold.  And while I'm really hoping for it to warm up soon, when we've had snow off and on since November, whats another few weeks of freezing cold right?  Get those hats and gloves ready!
