Veterans No Longer Have to Pay Civil Service Exam Fee in Albany
Albany is doing some good for men and women who have served our country. The Times Union has reported that Albany is waiving the fee for the civil service exam for veterans who were honorably discharged. It looks like this only pertains to jobs applied for within the city of Albany, but it's a step in the right direction. People who have risked their lives, served our country, and have discharged honorably have no reason to have to pay up to $30 to take a test to continue to serve our community. According to the Times Union, hundreds of jobs within Albany require the civil service exam, and the move to waive the exam fee for honorably discharged veterans was passed with a unanimous vote. It's good to see Albany doing some good. It doesn't need to be a holiday to show thanks and appreciation to all of those who risked themselves to serve our country!
