Wandering Dago Making Albany Return

A controversial name to some, the Wandering Dago food truck is set to return to Empire State Plaza in Albany.

According to the Times Union, a nearly five year legal battle has come to an end. The Wandering Dago food truck out of Schenectady is making a return to Empire State Plaza to serve up good eats. The truck was banned from serving food on the plaza by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2013, a decision that was ultimately due to the truck's name being offensive. Dago is generally understood as a slang term towards Italians, but truck owner Andrea Loguidice has always insisted that the name is a tribute to her ancestors.  A lawsuit filed in 2013 regarding the matter was quietly settled in January 2015 for the sum of $68,500. The Wandering Dago will now once again sit on Empire State Plaza in view of Cuomo's on the south side of the Capitol, serving up short rib sandwiches, tater tots and milkshakes starting this Monday.
