Every 4th of July I experience the same dilemma of trying to decide which band or solo act to listen to, however it can't be just any band or solo act because it's the 4th of July and that band or solo act has to be 'All American.'

I suppose there are two obvious choices: Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd, but I feel that Bob Dylan kind of represents what the 4th of July is all about, you can argue that Bruce Springsteen is more American then Bob Dylan, but the 4th of July is about: revolution, freedom and independence and I feel that listening to 'The Boss' all day contradicts those themes.

You would think that Grand Funk Railroad is the obvious choice, but I don't like people who like to brag.

Sometimes I am in the mood for something heavy and Metallica is the first band to come to mind, although my favorite metal band is Gwar. Gwar is not the most patriotic band, they have an album called "America Must Be Destroyed."

I could go with Disturbed or Slipknot or a combination of the two but for some reason I don't feel that they will leave me feeling very patriotic, which makes me question the patriotism in Metallica's music and if I just listen to all 3 of them I am probably going to get into a fight with a British person by the end of the day.

I am not a very big Guns N' Roses fan and the 4th of July is about the American Revolution and not the Civil War. Rob Zombie is a good option but I like to reserve Rob Zombie for Halloween.

Jimi Hendrix and The Doors are another good fit but i kind of feel like Hendrix and The Doors are more of an all summer long affair and should not just be reserved for the 4th of July.

I can go on all day long about this but I am going to cut to the chase, just listen to Q103, we have American music.

In conclusion:  Taking the American Revolution into consideration and all the picnicking and partying that will be going on today, the one band I feel suits the theme of today's holiday best is: The Ramones!

Of course this is all just my opinion, please share your's with me.
