Just because the Arena Football League has folded doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy elite sports still.  In fact, this weekend a huge World Cup event is happening not far from the Capital Region.

Killington, Vermont is only about a two hour drive from the Capital Region.  This Friday through Sunday, the professional World Cup circuit makes stops at Killington, with top alpine ski racing competitors from around the world.

As someone who grew up ski racing, and at an elite level, I can speak to just how fun these events are.  It is not all sitting and watching racers (I mean the adrenaline from that alone is fun).  But picture yourself in a crowd of tens of thousands (40,000 fans showed up in 2018), surrounded by adrenaline.  Bib draws, like the one on Friday often turn into big parties.  There’s live music and more.  You can shoot up for the day and catch one race or go the whole time.  If you’re interested, there’s a great “what to know” rundown here.
