Get Your COVID-19 Vaccine, Even If You Don’t Qualify In New York
It appears to me that the residents of the Capital Region are very passionate about whether to get the COVID-19 vaccine or not. For those that want to be vaccinated there is a way to make it happen quicker, even if you don’t qualify under New York’s current vaccination guidelines.
Check out Dr, B, which is a free alert service that lets you know when there are spare COVID-19 vaccines nearby. Similar to the way Facebook or Instagram sends you a notice. First, go to hidrb.com to sign up. They will ask for basic info like phone number, zip code, etc. Once a provider in the Dr. B network has leftover doses in your area you will get a notification.
You will need to respond within 15 minutes to claim the dose. Not all that different from calling a store and asking them to hold an item for you. You'll be right down to get it.
First everyone was upset that there weren't enough vaccines. Now we have doses that are considered extra. The reason, according to News10 ABC, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines must be used within six hours of thawing, or they get tossed. Some vaccine centers will give out the soon-to-expire doses to lucky people in the area. Dr. B can alert you when that happens.
After your first dose, the provider will work with you to schedule an appointment for your second dose. If you receive the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, you are done after a single shot.
The CDC reports that, millions of people have safely received a COVID-19 vaccine Over 52 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through February 14, 2021 and that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
I am not sure if this will get me closer to a concert or not but this could get you closer to your dose.
