This weekend's Saturday Night Live was hosted by comedian, writer, actor, and former SNL writer, John Mulaney. John Mulaney is one of my all-time favorite comedians.,, he's a great storyteller and his weirdly 1930s delivery is hysterical to me.

So, what's the big deal about John Melaney hosting SNL? This is significant because he was the last guest host on Saturday Night Live before the world started shutting down, February 29th. That was the last live show before everything was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This weekend's monologue by John Mulaney was pretty funny. He obviously talked about the pandemic, the upcoming election, that in his words is, "An Elderly Man Contest". He said, "We might have the same elderly man or a different elderly man....but nothing will change."

The best part of the monologue was when he talked about his favorite quarantine show to binge-watch.... an hour-long dramedy called the Governor Cuomo Daily Press Briefings. Mulaney said, "It told the story of an Italian-American father, who after being an empty nester, finds himself quarantining with his two daughters...hijinx ensues....he learns a lot about being a father, and a little about being a governor."

If you missed it check it out because it was probably the best part of Saturday Night Live.

Honestly, the cold-open was kinda funny, but like so many of the SNL skits, it just went on too long.
