New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reported several vehicles that found themselves stuck in the snow this past week. Mostly pickup trucks, but 1 Mercedes Sprinter Van also needed to be rescued. Probably a bit embarrassing but what are you going to do? Stay there?

Saturday February 21st - Altona, NY - Clinton County
The picture below shows a stranded vehicle on a snowmobile trail. DEC Rangers responded around 10:30pm to free the vehicle. There was a second vehicle but it was not in the way of the trail. Rangers contacted the local snowmobile club to coordinate the removal of the second vehicle with the vehicle’s owner.
Thursday February 19th - Broome, NY - Schoharie County
DEC Rangers responded by snowmobile with New York State Police and the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office. The 3 people in the truck said they were planning on squirrel hunting when they became stuck while driving down the unplowed. Eventually, a tow company came with a skid steer to remove the truck.
Thursday February 19th - Crown Point, NY - Essex County
Two vehicles became stuck on a snowmobile trail. Rangers provided a courtesy ride to the operator and made arrangements with a tow company to remove the vehicles in daylight the next day.
