Eagles are incredibly rare in the Capital Region. Today the majestic creature made an appearance in the outskirts of Mechanicville. It was looming around a pack of turkeys that were feeding in a corn field. The eagle flew into a nearby tree when it realized I was watching it from my car.

It was my first eagle I've seen outside of a zoo. It was pretty humbling. I often complain about living in Upstate New York, more specifically in the middle of nowhere. It's days like these where I'm grateful to be able catch an unusual siting in the countryside.

My experience was certainly breathtaking. Did you happen to catch a glimpse of this fella or any other eagles that may have been hanging around the area? Have you seen eagles or other unusual animals in the Capital Region? We want to know!
