Dukes Kyrie Irving was selected number one overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA draft. He is the first Duke player since 1999 to go number one overall.

The NBA draft has begun and no big surprise that Cleveland took Duke point guard as their number one pick. The last Duke player to go number one was Elton Brand in 1999.

Irving goes number one despite only playing 11 games in his college career. He also said that he can't wait to get to Cleveland and it feels good to put on the hat. Cleveland will also have the number four pick in the draft.

The number two pick went to Minnesota, and they took Arizonas Derrick Williams.

Now it's just wait and see, to see where Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette will end up. Some say Utah, but I think he stays home town and ends up with the New York Knicks.
