The FDR Park pool opens Saturday at 11am and will be open weekends 11am-6:30pm and 11am-5:30pm weekdays. To give you an idea of how big the FDR Park pool is twice the size of an Olympic-sized pool, is just about one acre in surface area and this mammoth pool can hold 3,500 bathers at one time!

You don't have to take the plunge. The zero-depth entry slope is a nice way to ease your toward the 9-foot deep end. According to Patch.com, there is also a wading section featuring 26 new entertaining and colorful spray features spaced at various depths.

Our ongoing investments in our state parks system are boosting tourism all across the state, and these improvements will offer yet another exciting new experience for residents and visitors alike to enjoy for generations to come. - Governor Cuomo

The pool isn't new as it was built back in 1963 but the $30 million renovation, paid for in part by State Parks capital funding, brings it to new life with new restrooms, concession stand, lifeguard and first aid pavilion.
