Capital Region Home Violently Invaded, Arrest Made
Capital Region home violently invaded by an acquaintance of the resident. The home suffered damage to the front door, and the resident was beaten. All of this in the presence of a child.
According to ADT home security, home invasions and burglaries in New York are relatively low compared to other major U.S. cities, despite high national rates. That is somewhat comforting to you and me, but we haven't had our home invaded, like this one in Sand Lake.

Based on information from a press release, on Sunday January 25th, around 4:30pm, New York State Troopers responded to a home in Sand Lake for the report of a home invasion. The investigation determined the suspect traveled to the home of an individual known to him uninvited and forcibly entered the residence.
The suspect appears to have caused damage to multiple locked doors, and once inside the residence, the suspect allegedly struck the victim numerous times, causing significant injuries, and pushed another victim.
On Wednesday January 28th, State Police of Schodack arrested 44-year-old Benjamin J. Cramer of Troy, NY, for:
- Burglary, 1st degree
- Assault 2nd degree
- Criminal Mischief 3rd degree
