According to a press release from the New York State Police, several cars tried to drive through flooded roadways recently at the W. Averell State Office and were disabled.

The incident happened during an overnight last week and troopers were assisted by the Albany Police Department who responded to several calls. Heavy rains had flooded several campus roads including ramps to the campus from I-90 East and West which were deemed impassable  Vehicles had to be towed from the scene but no injuries were reported. NYS Department of Transportation and State offices of General Services also assisted in fixing the situation. The New York State Police cautions drivers that flooded roadways can be dangerous and urge you to find alternate routes when faced with this situation.
